i love that the guy can tell people point blank.. that in the middle of the worst recession since the depression (his well used words)... that in the middle of accelerating the national debt in a way that's never been done before... in the middle of trying to take over the health care system in another multi-trillion dollar debacle with no way to pay for it... that in the middle of giving almost a trillion dollars to failing companies... the guy can come out and say "Oh, by the way, we are going to cause the cost of energy to sky rocket" and people are so very cool with that.

its like no one understands basic math. how do you think food is grown and transported? how do you think ANYTHING happens in the universe? it requires energy. energy is an expense. the cost of everything you buy is about to go up significantly at a time when the economy is totally fucked, when people are losing their homes, when people are losing jobs and so on ... but that's totally cool. its not just the cost of gas. it means a plane ticket doubles. it means your milk goes up. it means your petro chemical made triple anal jack hawk 9000 anal jackhammer gets more expensive. (well.. thats for nation-x specifically)

To be fair in the "Republican versus Democrat" argument, McCain was advocating healthcare taxes last year and Obama said no. Now he is tossing around the idea "since he now knows more", as he put it. The truth is you always learn more about a situation as time goes on and modifying your position after you learn of new facts would logically make sense... it's just kind of funny that he actually admitted that the first time around he didn't know what he was talking about, politicians never do that. So instead of my gas and electric prices going up every year like clockwork, they'll go up this year like clockwork 2.0. And mysteriously, nobody will be able to break it down to a $ amount because it'll be too fuzzy. How much geothermal progress will be made for every unknown dollar I spend more for coal fired electricity? Impossible to calculate. I dont see why people are upset yet. Probably changing their furnace filter 4 times a year will save them more than this'll cost them. But that'd take away a talking point.

PP, this recession is very weak... it can't hold a cup of tea to the 80's and even parts of the 70's. This is WHY he is doing something now, before it gets really bad.


You make a good argument but you leave out massive factors, like people changing over, energy/technology and industry that has already changed over... and time, this doesn't happen today and it doesn't just happen all at once, it's a slow change - SO - other technologies/industries/jobs/technology can catch up and replace them.

Driving our entire Country "ahead of the world" making us the leaders of alt energy solutions that can sell all over the world, driving the costs of everything down, putting more people to work......

What else happened? CNN, MSNBC, FOX and every 1/2 retarded local news station ran stories on it as if it was real.. as if was a great tool - in spite of the fact that nothing about it is serious, including the randomly generated results which OBVIOUSLY aren't real.

I even have a video of a Deputy Police Chief in Rhode Island saying he uses it.

In one of my proudest moments - i recieved an e-mail from a fox news affiliate in chicago who said the following:

The difference between people is their views as to what the answer is. What is the fix. What will solve the problem. Hell if I know, sure wish I did.

I suppose it's easy to be a naysayer without any real solutions. But when you look at the current system and notice all of the flaws that you find with it... so many of those flaws go back to "the government." In my opinion, anyway. And when the answer to a problem we already have is more of that same government that contributed to the current problem... it just makes me wonder, what outcome are we really expecting?

It's interesting. 12 months ago Democrats hated the government. Now they love it. 12 months ago Republicans loved the government. Now they hate it. Heh.

People shouldn't be 'forced' onto the welfare medical system (which has serious rules). You should have the choice to have ALL your medical crap covered & work, freely, without worrying about if you make to much. And if you came to work for me, I couldn't provide you insurance right now.. that's totally unfair to both of us.

Obama wants to regulate and expand the 'current' Gov Social system (it's a GREAT system right now) It's not the welfare/va system.. it's already part of our normal medical system. But it would allow people like me when i lived in Texas not to have to drive 3 hours to a VA hospital. And people like you... to make a new choice.
