There is only one column on that stats page which is important. Gold star goes to the one who knows which column it is and why.

one column on its own would mean nothing and just be a set of irrelevant data. You need at least 2.

It's easy to manipulate hits, ratios, and everything else... not so easy to fake the payments you get every 2 weeks

imo it's $/unique... but you gotta omit the ones that you barely push because if those convert, the $/unique skyrockets. look at AEBN in these stats for example....looks a lot like my AEBN numbers lol.

to answer the why.... $/month is always skewed towards who you promote the most (obvious they promote MP the most), uniques are counted differntly across programs... on & on the closest number to "productivity" is how much money you make anytime an ad is clicked

mmcfadden, you're correct on the column, but you didn't say why it's the most important. scottybuzz and FlexxAeon are correct, you do need to filter low traffic sponsors with skewed results out of that column, but $/unique is THE column there.

But the question remains... why is it the important column? The answer will explain why woj is wrong about looking at the bottom dollar. Sorry man.

hmm. allows you to put your sponsors on an even playing field. a "unique" acts as an "equalizer" and you can ignore varying things like ratios, PPS amounts, percentages, sales vs rebills ($/unique counts towards rebills too i believe), etc... so no matter the system, it's a final "ROI" - investment being uniques

i dunno if that makes sense the way i worded it

Unless i'm missing something the answer is obvious to me... you see what traffic converts the best and build up your network to best mimic that biz model. So at the end of the day you get most of your hits from the traffic that converts the best

FlexxAeon got it. Looking at $/uniques allows you to compare apples to apples when looking at sponsors. It allows you to ignore a lot of variables that can cloud the issue of which sponsor is doing "the best" for you.

Biggest thing it allows you to ignore? SHAVING. If a prog is shaving the bejesus out of you, but they still have the best $/uniques, then they're still the best sponsor to send traffic to. That doesn't mean they wouldn't be BETTER if they didn't shave so much... it just means that, today, that is the best sponsor to send traffic to.

thanks for that info i never even thought about that. nor did i ever even consider that a "shaving" program could still be a good one. lol. i guess it all boils down to ROI

hm man ... not sure how big company you are ... but 9k in one month? i know its not your company stats, but with your traffic, and i think many of those sales are from members area, you can do much more or not? i made 1/4 this month alone, and i started this xmas ... just saying that i though companies as yours is making another nubmers ... anyway congrats and wish you best with your sites!

This is mainly from a traffic project that started last year with no relation to the MP program other then using content from it.

The most important column on that sheet is NOT $/unique. That is the SECOND most important column. The most important column is the one called "Program Name." No, sorry, I disagree. Looking at the order-taking and billing practices of a potential sponsor is something that should happen BEFORE they appear on the above list. That's called due diligence and it weeds out the riff-raff before you send them a single click.

While due diligence is extremely important and I agree about not sending traffic to someone who does what you list in your example, it's immaterial to what I'm talking about here. Due diligence should come way before you can compare sponsor stats.

Considering this is from a project that started just about 1 year ago with no outside funds or bought traffic etc...It was a complete build from the ground like a noob would have to do if he /she did what we did and we are now making 10K a month from it with just a little hard work.

Yes but to add to my above post its not like we used the content as if we had to pay for it, we just took our own program and promoted it as if we were just another affiliate.
