This entire issue is being blown way out of proportion. I am not sure why the president got involved in the first place but regardless of the reason that cannot be undone.

I think its a bit insensitive. 911 is etched deep into most NYers and the country for that matter. Sadly people associate the entire Muslim religion with the attack. With that said being they claim to be a caring peaceful religion why bother putting a center up 2 blocks from ground zero. No other locations available? A little sensitivity on their part would have been nice.

I mean all hell breaks loose when the Prophet Muhammad is portrayed in news comics or south park. If you remember the south park issue a Muslim group warned the show’s creators that they could face violence for depicting that holy Islamic prophet. Some would think its a bit hypocritical but you can draw your own conclusions.

With that said I believe in the freedom of religion. I also believe in the right to freedom of assembly which will certainly lead to protests during and after the construction of this building.
