Clara Chan is a repeat offender. Although cb, for some reasons, insists affiliate links are allowed on the site itself, she is in breach when she asks members to create a new username in her bio. (HeyHorny_cb is the same).

I see she now has a banner that takes 100% of the screen so you really can't miss it and the list of c_ members is growing.

I reported heyhorny_cb who's fishing net was covering the main site logo with 2 layers (ah sure why not...). They replied they were going to "look into it". As a result the broadcaster has moved the banner away from the logo and just right beside the "Sign Up" button (ah sure why not ...).

There is still an enticement to create a new username (it is explicitly written on the banner: "NEW username") which is bad practice and impacting everyone (affiliate broadcasters, cb, ..) but I can't spend all day long playing that game of cat and mouse.

I have, but I haven’t seen any change yet. Chan used to have banner telling viewers to sign up new account now she do it with text after the banner was removed, hows that any different?

Here last 2 months a lot down and have not seen half of my spenders that 2 months, so i think they are "stolen" from me by that nasty models with their anoying new signup banner/buttons etc :mad:

They seem to think that whitelabels and first cookie rule protect them which is wrong in both instances as I explained many times over already. And then there's the "change username" trick.

I don't know if you remember but I had a CSS rule that was precisely targeting affiliate links (using a regular expression) so that all outgoing links remained up and running but only those disgusting fishing nets were made unclickable and hidden.

Well, shortly after I posted the tip here, chaturbate added a filter so that this particular CSS rule was not allowed. It is clear to me that cb want models to continue this , there is just no official statement.

This is corroborated by the fact that nobody is getting a straight answer, even when Steve was here he was saying: contact support. Then support replies with a template: we'll investigate.

Did anyone meet with them in person to discuss this and see how they take it, maybe at a webmaster or model conference? We must be the laughing stock of a lot of people if I judge by the comments of some here (ex: use of the word "cry" to describe our rant, and other pop corn GIF as if our inability to find a solution was laughing matter.)

Wondering the same. I am pretty sure they would tell you the same, that they are working on it and take a look into the case. Clara_Chan has been reported several times now and she still has this signature where she encourages people to sign up under her username. I think if someone has been caught doing this then the person should only get 1 more warning before a temporary ban or something.

I am not sure in particular why they removed the ability to insert your CSS Code but it sure does not help anyone either, other than the models. I can't seem to understand why Chaturbate would care. They get their share, as when a model makes a lead and when a webmaster makes a lead. I think sometimes they (both CB and the models) forget how valueable Webmasters really are for their website. For sure, Chaturbate has a lot of organic traffic itself too, but the webmasters do their work as well.

We need to think about what it is we're trying to achieve. We can assume cb already knows.
We can also assume webmasters know, given the size of this thread.

By amplifying and spreading this further, we could have it backfire at us and have more broadcasters joining the party. Some of them already know about the flaw by reading this thread themselves (with a grin), others are being made aware by unscrupulous webmasters etc ...

I'm not saying Twitter or BH are bad ideas. I am just adding some food for thoughts.

Talking about Twitter, I have never had a single like, retweet or follow back in 4 years by the Chaturbate main account. If you look at their timeline, they RT broadcasters affiliate links no prb. That's another indication.

edit:the link is removed on chaturbate main site but if you open her room on white label its still there!!!

Why does someone not link this thread over on Ambercutie to show models etc the anger this is causing?. I know Drexl has concerns about this incase it makes more models aware of it and they do it making the problem even worse. The other side of the coin might be it finally makes Chaturbate deal with the problem once and for all. Let us get back to normal and earning money. Opinions?

If the models would read this they will laugh and think, kiss my ass affiliates/webmasters, we want all the money.

The only way to make it fair again is that CB take out al that css and anoying and stealing BIO's from the models and take action with bans. Out of that give us our whitelabel css back

A few comments:

We should define (with the help of CB support!) what is allowed and use it ourselves. If they insist banners are allowed then so be it: we can also make banners. CB needs to clarify specifications.

The issue of members reassignment is separate and should be sanctioned regardless. I have a feeling that when this type of issue is reported, support thinks of the above issue (banner). Broadcasters doing this are not being smart, this is being sneaky and bad practice. Though it seems CB is loose with this too. TBD.

It is not models vs webmasters: the problem affects all affiliates.

I noticed custom bio are also a problem in terms of performance. For example social media icons used on the left handside of the chatroom are huge (~200k each).

I still think that rules should be technically enforced rather than count on the good will of people. I have never seen a website allowing its users to cover their own brand logo, I just can't get over this one. They were quick to remove my ability to use regex in css though.

Did anyone meet cb affiliate support folks or managers? It would be insightful. If we were all working in a company in the same geo, we would have fixed this problem after week 1! Communication would be improved, we would have a feel for their skills and intentions, etc.. ..

This is the stupidest thing I ever heard, first, how do you know the models that are doing it are on ambercuite? Also why would they care if you are anger? Are you somehow important to them?

The one and only way is changing to an other camsite. Until everything runs fine, why should they start interesting in this issue?

Just do it. Look for an Alternative and start sending your traffic there. You dont loose your current Spenders in cb for this and u will sleep better in future.

We have tried email/ report since over 1-2 years as of now and still nothing getting done for webmaster/ affiliates.
One of the only rep that was involve actively with webmasters in this thread dosen't work at CB anymore. We are left with what ? No much to be honnest.

So I have decide to give up crying about it and make some move. :thumbsup
