Go do some research on how many trained soldiers in WW2, Korea and Vietnam were actually shooting to kill. The modern army goes into intense training to make them killers. Untrained people with the weapons they have in their closet, against trained killers with some of the most modern weapons ever. No contest.
Which is why soldiers today go through intense training.
The people of Afghanistan and Vietnam were/are losing combatants by the 100s against 1 US soldier. They kept/keep coming because they have balls. The first time the "citizens" start to take hits they will run like rabbits.

So tell us all when a popular armed uprising worked against an army and I will tell you 10 times it failed. For everyone you name.

The last time the US had the balls to stand up against the rulers was in the 60s and 70s.

Those people had balls, they were shot and and killed and kept coming back. I'm afraid to say the US citizens of today don't have the same balls. Getting 10% to uprise is treason, getting 60% is impossible and that's a revolution. When the majority say enough is enough.

Dictators have a habit of getting the Army and Police well behind them first. Look around at the World. When didn't they? French Revolution comes to mind. Revolution is an option when your kids are dying of starvation.

Even the Russian Revolution had soldiers on their side, returning soldiers from the front and the Navy fired on St Petersburg.

The way it works would be this: the US president or whoever gives an order to fire on an armed group of rebellious traitors. Anyone with an ambition to take over the country takes the guns into consideration. The "New World Order" people have to be very sneaky. You're unlikely to see an overtly tyrannical police state any time soon.

They would have a fight on their hands if they tried to go door to door rounding people up for internment camps. The rebels aren't going to stand out in the open where the army can use their superior weapons.

The US Army is demoralized fighting the sand people. Imagine how they will feel fighting a guerrilla war against Americans. So it is unlikely that the Army will ever be used against its own people, for the simple reason that it won't be easy.

I'm not Canadian, and from there your post went downhill.

Treasonists are the losers.

To be a soldier you have to be trained to a very high level to kill on the orders of others. Without standing there and thinking if it's a good idea or a bad idea. If you knew anything about soldiers you would understand what the training involves.

The number of times trained soldiers have turned their guns on civilians is so many it's not worth discussing. For some reason people think the US soldiers would be different. If it was the over whelming masses it wouldn't need the Army. The possibility of that is as remote as some here gaining some common sense.

The over whelming majority of Americans would put up with almost anything if they can still switch on their TVs and go raid the fridge. That saddens me because I have nothing but admiration for Americans who did stand up to tyranny. In the Revolution, Civil War, Civil Rights, Anti Vietnam and 2 World Wars.

Look around you at today. The Enron Crisis and other company corporates who robbed you, Iraq War, crashing economy because of greed, President stealing an election and probably other things that would of brought millions onto the streets. Barely gets a whimper these days.

So let's imagine a scenario where armed Americans take to the streets to over throw the Government.

In the fantasy world of some, the Army sit back and do fuck all while these armed civilians force a change in Government. At the front of this armed rebellion is some of the keyboard warriors posting here. The Government gives in and goes off in fast retreat and the rebels take over.

Or they lose and the Government forgive them because they were revolutionaries.

And they live happily ever after.

IN THE REAL WORLD.

The army is called out and rounds up the rebels. The moment they start firing the Army gets tough and the armed rebels come off far worse. The ring leaders are put on trial for treason and executed, those found to be firing are also put on trial.

And the Government carries on as it is.

Also in the Fantasy World, 300 million Americans rise up.
