Here's something else and it will kill you. If one man with a little help from others can do all this in 2012 imagine what could have been if the big players in adult in 2006 and 2007 would have done the same instead of secretly opening their own tubes with stolen content? Imagine how much more money 99% of the people reading this right now would have. It's crazy. Just fucking crazy.

Stupid Fabian the pirate gave a "speech" that said a bunch of nothing (like most keynote speeches) last year.

How about this year we get a guy up there to speak who actually did something that is beneficial to all of us and would be worth my time listening to?

Last years speech was by the world's biggest pirate...how about this year we bring back some dignity and respect to our business and get AdultKing?

Internext webmasters and sponsors, especially GFY folks, are shit in its general
AdultKing is the Man

Don't bring him where he doesn't belong

90% surfers, 9% tube/filelockers owners, 1% adult webmasters.
this is the zoo, cant really expect much action

MrDeiz 07-30-2012 12:08 AM

what I'm saying is no matter how hard he tries it's the only matter of his personal effort
people posting here and attending shows have no clue about the effort of such kind and values other than money. just people full of shit looking to make some money

most of you guys posting in this thread contribute nothing to the industry. even if some do it's still not that in-depth effort. everyone has his own pond and doesn't really care what happens outside of it besides some bullshit drama

this industry is full of shame and there's still no limit. so you better shut your whining fuck up and let the man do his job

And note their total silence on AK and this effort.

If you look at this logically, if these companies are willing and able to open tubes, why wouldn't they also open file lockers, and possibly even torrents? Once you cross that line, why stop at one?

I'm sure none of us would be surprised to find out that many of these same tube companies are the owners behind a lot of these file lockers.

I think you're right on a large percentage of them.

And then there's another percentage of them who think THEY are the leader and simply can't stand it when another guy simply DID what had to be done.

Kinda makes big sites like Pink Visual with all their lawyers, and employees, and "deals" with Manwin and FSC look kinda ineffective in comparison to one guy figuring out how to do an end run around all the bullshit and go straight for the jugular.

it's a grass roots movement. Best thing to do is let the man march in quiet. We'll just keep hitting him with donations when he needs it. No need to get all the big guys involved. They are shady as shit, & are not friends of the industry.

Looking at some of them it's obvious it takes little to open one. Maybe not a top ranking one, but still a File Locker.

Buy the script, domain, hosting is cheap and BW is for nothing these days.

Get processing, not too hard with PP.

Then what's to stop the owner of the FL uploading all the content themselves. Is it really that hard?

Next step is to spam the forums and get people to know about it.

Then think affiliates to add more content and grow the site.

Eric (Remove Your Content) found this today

"FileSonic and Oron, two prominent file-hosting services, have been dragged to court by adult entertainment company Flava Works. In a complaint filed at a federal court in Illinois, the cyberlockers are joined by 26 John Doe defendants who stand accused of sharing copyrighted material. These files were also allegedly shared on several other cyberlockers including FileServe, Hotfile and RapidShare."

We should ask ourselves why. Are all the straight ones up to their necks in piracy or full of hot air or can't afford to go to court?

i think it's half, no 3/4 of the industry lawyers we use don't know one thing about this, research it, charge you for 30 hours of research at 300 an hour & then give you some crazy number to sue not based on contingency. It wasn't until guys like eric & nate that people were pointed in the right direction regarding counsel.

Thanks Duke. Well now we seem to have found lawyers who do know how to do it. When will companies start to pick up the baton?

macker 08-01-2012 12:13 AM

Great job AK. Although it does make me wonder whether or not this will force the pirates into an adapt or die situation.

In which case, they could potentially start using a different platform, one that would be even more difficult to police or put a stop to.

Not that I'm saying do nothing, but I'm slightly concerned this could open a new can of worms that would present even greater challenges.

In many ways, this could be a fucked if you do and a fucked if you don't scenario.

Either way, kudos to you for taking action.

It's guaranteed that file lockers and pirates in general will adapt. The long term strategy is to reach beyond file lockers and disrupt as many other areas of piracy as possible, as they develop new strategies so will we.

macker 08-01-2012 12:31 AM

Just read this on WJunction:

At this time we are in the process of moving Oron.com to another hosting provider. As soon as we finish this process we will post a notification on out site. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

Jel 08-01-2012 06:29 AM

from the xbiz article:

Quote:

Porn Guardian, incidentally, offers one creative solution that appears to be a moneymaker for some adult entertainment companies. Its Making Piracy Pay initiative works with file hosts to redirect illegal URLs to point to the legitimate files on the clients’ sites.

“We track traffic and sales, which enables us to quantify how much money is actually being lost due to piracy,” Ford said. “Plus, it generates sales for our clients from these would-be pirates. It’s an incredibly powerful program.”
But, but... freeloaders were NEVER going to pay for porn EVER, apparently? That's one hell of a quote, and would be extremely interesting to see the actual figures.

Unless they're physically taking the servers from one hosting to the next. Why would they take the site down. Also other questions, did leaseweb turn them off for not paying the bill, if they didn't pay the bill would leaseweb hand over the servers or hold onto them as collateral.

Seems like the shit has hit the fan, let the fun begin. :thumbsup

My guess Paul is that they are moving to some offshore hosting where they can stick a fiinger up to DMCA and other requests. I dont think they will just pack up because they know they can make a lot of money from what they are doing
