I did check the spam folder: nothing. And I receive other emails from them (communication, paymnt, ...)

Maybe you received it because you sent an email to support?

Anyone else received it?

It is a survey monkey survey, got it yesterday at around 6pm cst:

Affiliate Program Satisfaction Survey

Please take a minute and provide us with your feedback on the affiliate program.

* 1. Overall, how happy are you with the Chaturbate Affiliate Program and it's promotional tools and links?
Unsatisfied Neutral Very Satisfied

2. What is your favorite thing about the Chaturbate affiliate program?

3. What other sites do you send your traffic to?

4. How would you like us to improve Chaturbate's affiliate program?

That's the whole thing.

.

TheBlackShark 02-16-2019 11:04 AM

Filled the CB survey yesterday.

Anyway, there's a simple way for resolve the unfair behaviour of models, updating the terms of CB affiliate program:

1) Ask to the next login:

a) Are you broadcaster?
b) Are you an affiliate?

2) If you choose "a" you can't anymore be also an affiliate, so all your affiliate links will be disable (keeping anyway all "unfair" affiliate earnings until now active so to respect the terms until now), if you choose "b" you can promote CB but not to be also a broadcaster.

3) Ban all models that asking customers money outside Chaturbate. Ban all models forcing users to register a new account with a message in their bio. Ban models with multiple accounts.

That's it!

drexl 02-16-2019 11:12 AM

I agree :thumbsup

One small thing, I would reword "affiliate" into "webmaster" as the later implies the necessary the skills required to do the job.

"if you are a webmaster then you are entitled to join our affiliate program".

You also have to customers unique by name + credit card as to avoid any temptations.

They cant ban models, but according to T&C they can forfeit the earnings etc ..

Not replying at all is poor form though, regardless of if they have a vested interest or not.

Phase 1:
broadcasters don't know cb
cb opens an affiliate program so their site grows
webmasters push traffic to cb

Phase 2:
cb is big
broadcasters make money off cb
webmasters make money off cb

Phase 3:
cb is bigger
broadcasters still make money
no need for webmasters anymore the site is self sufficient
still a need for models to stay so let them do what they want.

I don't have a problem with that flow, but I do have a problem if our lifetime members are stolen from us

Dont blame the models i am sure they are cb prepaid and the profit of that shit runs straight into the pockets of cb.

Such things are only possible on the orders of the management.

And instead of changing it, cb promotes exact these models in their newsletters the last days.

I dont blame the model at all :thumbsup
As an ex escort Touring Agency owner, I can tell you the Lady are not that smart to do all this them self nor not interested to do all promotion them self.
Usualy The Brain of the operation would be WEBMASTER / BF/ Pimp Daddy .

Again i think we will all need to find our own models setting up studio and set up their profile on CB add our affiliates Link to their profile :1orglaugh

Easy Pie :winkwink:

drexl 02-19-2019 06:03 AM

The key is in the terms and conditions:

Quote:

“Referred User” means an Internet user who creates a new Chaturbate user account as a result of clicking an existing user’s User Referral Link. Eligible users will receive a commission equal to 20% of Adjusted Gross Receipts paid by each of their Referred Users to the Site.
Nowhere it states "lifetime", this makes me think that this angle is covered from their standpoint.

Having said that, it seems preposterous or/and dishonest that anyone is eligible for referring a user from the platform. It is also encouraging all sorts of businesses that are shifting the earnings from honest and skilled webmasters to the pocket of sneaky unscrupulous folks. If this is permitted, it suggests a lot about the numerous ways they have to achieve this.

:2 cents: Generally speaking, in the cam site referring business, I am thinking maybe "lifetime" is not the best choice anymore. What do you think? This is why I suggested that cb cancels its lifetime program (they must lose a lot of money anyway) and replace it with a pure rev-share, this way the pool of customers remains available, and everyone remains active to promote. No saturation!

New period is very low for me so far. Unless it picks up now & later on has to be the lowest in months. End of last period was high then dropped off.

Yeah, I saw a lady promoting her own .com whitelabel last night but I was tired and 4got the name. Crazy.

drexl 02-19-2019 12:29 PM

All cb affiliates should push traffic to a whitelabel. Pushing to the main brand is a strategic mistake: too many leaks and too many conflict of interests.

All cb affiliates should use the css code to hide the fraudulent links (leaks).

Code:

a[rel="nofollow"] {
visibility:hidden;
}
img[rel="nofollow"] {
visibility:hidden;
}

If a model use a whitelabel, in theory it is fine but in reality, there is a conflict of interest! There's nothing that prevents her/him from talking to a customer in DM, email, social media or even private session and tell him to go ahead and create a new username.

FACT: Chaturbate is encouraging the use of affiliate links by models. They retweet models affiliate links day in day out while non-models affiliates' tweets are ignored.

Allowing models to tell customers to sign in through their link under a new account is poor form (bad faith).

Proposed Solutions:
- Make members proper lifetime: bind them to a webmaster regardless of the username
- An alternative is to cancel lifetime and use rev-share based on a short lived cookie. Since it is not realistic to cancel, maybe it can be implemented from a certain point in time onwards

Does anyone know when the next european Adult Webmaster conference is? I'd like to meet the cb folks

Yeah that code works really well, thanks :-D. Quick question that I think might've been answered somewhere, but I can't find it anymore: How do you make your whitelabel show up as whitelabel.com instead of whitelabel.chaturbate.com?

I know it has to do with CNAME and stuff, but I'm with dynadot and can't figure it out... :-(

PornGrowsOnTrees 02-19-2019 06:21 PM

I'm using the code too thanks for the tips.

Most welcome. Thanks for the feedback!

Here is another piece of code you can try that allows non-clickable images to show up (if that's what you want):

Code:

a[rel="nofollow"], a[rel="nofollow"] img {
visibility:hidden;
}

Custom css doesn't seem to be applied. Bug?

Guys, bad news: from a couple of tests I just did, the custom css code is not applied on model profile pages when viewing from mobile (majority of traffic).

I could be wrong but when I look at the html source of a model profile when on the mobile version, I don't see the custom css. That means the fraudulent links will show up.

option 1: it was always like this. In this case it is a bug.
option 2: it has recently been modified to cancel the css. No comment.
option 3: I didn't test properly, custom css is applied in all cases, I should go to bed.

Please test model profiles on mobile to see if your custom css is applied, if not I suggest logging a bug with support.

PornGrowsOnTrees 02-21-2019 08:38 PM

Does anyone know how to change the mobile layout for the Send tip button & send button? And the css to add banner ads (footer,header,side) I thought maybe dating and sex toys or something might work well for some extra money on my main whitelabel. I can't seem to add the code for banners it keeps giving me a lot of errors no matter what code I use.

Well, that’s not ok, he’s supposed to be handling communications between us and chaturbate, right now the community is outraged and he decided to just stay silence? At the very least he should come forward to address the issue . Has he even replied to your email? I emailed him multiple times about the traffic leak issues and got no replied

The mobile chat window is implemented in a totally different framework, so no custom CSS seems to be applied in there. If you look at the source it is setting the CSS via JavaScript and not in the source like the other windows. So it needs a totally different means of setting custom CSS.

For example, the Chaturbate logo is hardcoded in the JavaScript code. No CSS will overwrite this.

I only could apply mobile CSS to the model list page on mobile, so I suppose the reason is option 1 above. Bug, or feature.

:)

eMail'd him several times as well, also pointing out this thread right here. The only thing he said is that this is not a support forum, lol.

Well, lets hope something comes out of this survey that they have sent us last week because i don't think we are the only people that are outraged by this.

Again, i can't wrap my head around how Chaturbate can allow stealing money from THEM and THEIR AFFILIATES that bring tons of traffic to the website.:mad:

MFCT 02-22-2019 02:43 AM

These last few months have been the worst since I started promoting CTB. I'm not sure if models using their own affiliate links are the problem. But just in case, I came up with an idea. (I'm not using a whitelabel.)

As an experiment, a few days ago I switched all my standard API affiliate links over to the Full Video Mode links. The idea being that with the video in fullscreen, users shouldn't see the model's affiliate links. Therefore, in theory, model affiliate links shouldn't interfere with what should be signups credited to me. Plus, with fullscreen video, users aren't distracted by photos, bio info, etc. They can only focus on the model, which is what we want.

Shortly this changeover, I got my first new signup since I can remember. Coincidence? I dunno. But I'll keep using fullscreen links for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully this might help you guys.

On a related note, I also added the Top Room By Tag links. They function as expected. But they don't load fullscreen video. I can alter the affiliate link, changing the "tour=" section over to the fullscreen tour. Fullscreen will then load. But by doing this, they no longer seem to load rooms by tags accurately. Meaning, they seem to load rooms at random which don't feature the tags that were clicked on.

So for the hashtags, I had to switch back over to the tour that works accurately, but loads the standard page. Maybe Tag + Fullscreen can be a thing in the future.

Fix recommendation

My latest recommendation

Step 1: Custom Desktop CSS

Code:

a[rel="nofollow"], a[rel="nofollow"] img {
  visibility:hidden;
}

Step 2: Force Desktop Layout

Append ?mobileRedirect=never to your whitelabel url. Ex:
Code:

mycbwhitelabel.com?mobileRedirect=never or mycbwhitelabel.com?trak=test&mobileRedirect=never
pros: you hide fraudulent links on all devices + cb watermark not showing up in streaming
cons: this parameter's effect has a very short lifetime of less than 1 day after which user will be sent back to mobile layout + url doesn't look good
