well im not trying to make up any theory here but check this out;

We all are affiliates for over 1-2 even 3-5 years on CB. So far we always had a good payout and almonst none to no 0,00$ days. Suddenly everyone experiencing this and not just for 1 day, but maybe even 2, 3 or 4 days in a row. There must be something going on, i can't explain it otherwise? An on top of that, Chaturbate probably knows whats going on, they just don't want to share it.. great way to make your affiliates run from you..

Weirdly enough, me neither. Strange, because i used to have a few in every period. Average earnings for me. Outta fuckin nowhere an active broadcaster appeared too worth $50. :) I promoted Chaturbate last in 2016.

i havent had any 0 since 2017, but my earning is about 40% down compare to 09/2018 - 11/2018 even tho my signups per day has increased, before december, my earning were always on the increase.

My sales are back since 10 days (after pulling the codes).
Before 6 weeks nearly nothing.

Have you noticed it lately in models' rooms? Its now incessant from the start of many model's show till the end. And usually, from guest or basics who don't even have tokens.

The presumption is these guests/basics are wanting to negotiate a private show in pm. And since they don't have tokens, one assumes they're scammers trying to trick models into doing free private shows.

We can't know what goes on in pm. But perhaps, instead of trying to trick the models, these people are offering to build free, professional-looking themes for models' home pages.

And who knows, I'm openly speculating here, but maybe hackers have come up with some blackhat method that theme-builders are putting into those custom themes. Something new no one knows about or is aware of.

Perhaps the end result is: your signups are still spending normally. But due to these hacker methods, your sales are no longer being credited to you but to someone else. You're none the wiser, except you're now swimming in a sea of zeros with a big question mark over your head, while someone else is retiring early.

Isn't that precisely the kind of thing hackers would do?

Well at the very least, they could investigate if the people that lost whales re-registered under a new account and how they did it/with what affiliate links. That could uncover a pattern that would solve a lot of problems (if it is indeed the case).

I was researching about modifying model profiles and adding custom themes. Not that I'm interested in doing it. I'm just trying to find out exactly what can be done. The info out there is a bit sparse.

It seems the HTML for profile pages can be edited, modified, and customized. This is a great thing for allowing models to make their profiles unique. But can scripts also be added, or sneaked into the HTML?

The reason I ask is: chaturbate.com sets cookies. Now if someone were to load a customized model profile with an added sneaky script, could this script potentially overwrite pre-existing cookies with an entirely different set of cookies? And/or potentially alter the expire time of pre-existing cookies to "Now", causing the browser to immediately delete them?

I suppose the browser would allow these scripts to execute without throwing a red flag, since these requested actions are coming from the same domain that set the original cookies.

I'm just guessing here because I know nothing about it and could be completely wrong (and probably am). But I thought I'd throw this out there for discussion. Hopefully someone who knows better can correct me.

Models (or someone on their behalf) can indeed write javascript (or reuse existing code) that will be executed at runtime when they broadcast :)

This is open source and I don't see any "cookie" manipulation, though they can obfuscate the code. I would also imagine cb would filter out such code but who knows.

I believe you have a point and it is good to see the discussion broadening but our answers might be simpler:

It seems it is in Chaturbate's interests to encourage customers to move to chaturbate.com and away from your domain: after all, revenue they make off ads is lost on whitelabels.

That would explain why they are not in a rush to fix the bugs I mentioned related to the co-branding and that also answers all our questions: why isn't Chaturbate doing anything about models enticing members to join cb through their links: of course it is fraudulent but only webmasters lose. Chaturbate, models and all who participate in their game are winners.
(Oh and if you don't use whitelabels, then clara will take care of your whales :1orglaugh )

In case you are wondering why they produced a whitelabel platform in the first place: everytime you push traffic to your whitelabel, Google is seeing it as "traffic to chaturbate.com" because of the canonical URL. You do the SEO for them. And then the leaks do the rest.


I think the biggest concern we have is:
- conflict of interests.
Models know the whales, and they can reach out to them easily (which is why we need a robust system and known workflow)
+ Everyone is an affiliate: webmasters, room moderators, studio, brocasters, possibly staff


other concerns:
- we don't know for sure the workflow (binding by username only or by user?, cross domain cookie rule, ..)
- we don't know if a previous workflow has been modified, who would proactively tell us
- no communication with customer service
- we were told to report models who planted their links on the site, specifically overlays. Nothing is done
- bugs / poor branding on mobile

I feel the same. I value customer service a lot, specifically technical accuracy, courtesy and speedy responses. I normally keep away from companies that don't have easy access customer service but cb was an exception I guess since the earnings and the platform were good.

They don't even reply to emails sent. Maybe their backlog is so big they don't have enough staff to reply but then why sending a survey out.

It's humiliating to be ignored.

Another thing is maybe they feel like they already answered.

They don't want to stop this for the reasons I mentioned: models help them move customers to the cb domain where their ad slots are located.

This is just 1 reason

If they did confirm this was the case then we could at least say go ahead and hardcode the ads into all whitelabels. As long as they ban all these overlays and models trying to get people to delete accounts and sign up under their links

Just to be clear, what is against the rules with the Bio here?

1) Overlay Buttons?
2) Asking the user to register a new account when they already have one?
3) Linking outside Chaturbate to a different income source for them?
4) What else?

3) is not against the TOS for sure, many models giving away/selling their private contact info (Snapchat, Skype etc.). Twitter is also common. Chaturbate can't control what's being done outside their site, hence they should forbid any such activity. This would be the single most important thing, because this is a lot more common than the overlays imho. It would be in their best interest too, i'm unable to understand why such things are allowed. Biggest leak right there. I wouldn't allow the models selling anything else than videos, picture sets and have an Amazon wishlist maybe.

I personally think this whole overlay thing is blown out of proportions. There are 2-3k female models online at any given moment. Drexl who's onto this for a while now, was able to post like 10 models? One would think reading the last couple pages of this thread, that there are hundreds of models doing this.

Chaturbate is more like the wild west now, where almost anything goes. Take a look at Livejasmin in comparison. There's absolutely no linking outside of the site, no private contact info sharing. This is how it should be.

I agree with most of this, and certainly other sites have different policies that seem more logical (and ethical).

Chaturbate allows the "farwest" situation (at our expense) because it still works out for them.

I only listed a few models because I spent ~10 seconds. I don't think it is a small issue, you only need a handful to catch lots of precious whales since they can be stuck in the top 3 cams at the top of the screen for hours, day in day out. The case of Clara C. is a perfect illustration: she is only 1 model but look in her room the hundreds of guys who created a new account following her instructions and link (username starting with "c_").

2) Surely this must break the rules. Iv emailed them back with all the info about clara_chan so we will see what happens regarding her. I also suggested maybe putting it clearly in the site terms that this is not allowed then email everyone the new updated site terms. Probably pushing my luck with that though
