Amazon wants to reduce its carbon footprint and give customers more control over when they receive their packages. The company found a way to achieve both in one new program.

Starting Tuesday, all Prime members in the United States will be able to select a particular day to receive a week's worth of Amazon deliveries. After a Prime member enrolls in the "Amazon Day" service, Amazon will hold everything they order throughout the week, and it will deliver the items together on the customer's selected day.

So no more 2 day delivery if you opt for this service, so why pay the $100 a year for Prime ?

They haven't replaced my 2 hour delivery, or same day delivery, or 2 day delivery. This is just another available option.

I wouldn't put it past Amazon to get rid of prime delivery in the future though, greedy corporations get to the top then service, convenience and quality slide to increase corporate profits to make shareholders happy and you end up with a Walmart experience.

I know people who order just one small item every day and get a delivery everyday, it's costing Amazon a fortune and the $100 a year for Prime does not cover the cost of delivery even with the huge discounts they get from the likes of FedEx or UPS.
You will notice that when you place an order it almost always takes a few day before they ship, from what i hear from people i know at Amazon they do this to see if you place a second or third order then they can ship them out together and save on shipping. This has happened more often lately.

I have a special kind of dog food I buy for my Great Dane on Amazon and it's $10 cheaper on Amazon for the 8-pound bag than it is at the store. I used to be able to get 2-day delivery with my prime membership buying 4, 8 pound bags of dog food at a time. What they've done recently is it still shows up as prime but I don't get it until 5-7 days later now. They tell me that prime means I don't have to pay the shipping lol The vender is the same, nothing's changed but my delivery time.

Amazon delivery quality has gone way down since they've created their own delivery service, AMZL. I've had stuff delivered to the wrong house almost every fourth delivery and have to call Amazon to report it and hope a neighbor brings it to my door (they always have so far)

I have dealt with their customer support a few times and it is absolutely abysmal. Driving me to stop using it.

We had a business account, I can't tell you how many things that we ordered that we did not receive or broke within a few days and we basically had no recourse. Several cases of an item not even showing up. Other cases of return shipping fees were much higher than replacing the product. I ended up canceling our business account and have gone back to box stores. Saving me $5 every other order is not worth it if we can't get support when it's needed.

In regards to the shipping, I always had a feeling this would happen at some point. There's no way it made economical sense.

I hope you actually received you $5 credit, because they have given me a number of 1 month extensions on my Prime account due to late delivery and they never got credited to my account. So fuck it i cancelled Prime, If i need anything that urgently from now on ill but from the local big box stores.

If you haven't already, and as long as I'm not trying to teach you how to suck eggs, I'd see if the problems were from 3rd party sellers, as at the risk of sounding like a paid shill lol, amazon piss all over nigh on everyone else for customer support/satisfaction.

nb I concede I may get some kind of special treatment I'm unaware of as a higher than average spender there for over a decade

I always think of it as how well could a kid out of high school live on an unskilled minimum wage.

600 square foot apartments in my area start at $2,175 a month. So if you work 40 hours a week @ $15 an hour, you can barely afford rent making $2,400 a month. You'll have $225 left to live on after rent.

Yeah healthcare & drugs are super cheap in Australia. Healthcare in Australia is 9% of their GDP. Healthcare in America is 18% of our GDP averaging $10,739 a year per person.
