So what if you're lazy, make an offer anyways. ;p

First $8000 takes it. That is the new buy it now price.
You do know if you would have worked harder back then, instead of 3-4 hours a day and not taken so many vacations you would have likely been retired by now.

If you are lazy when the money is "easy" to make you going to be fucked 4x over when it starts getting hard to make. When it is "easy" to make you should be working 10x harder (not less) so you can make as much as you can, and then invest that money into other things.

You're probably right about the working harder and being retired now part.....but I have no regrets.

I didn't come here to get rich or anything like that, I wanted to be able to set my own hours and spend more time with my family and things like that. I wouldn't trade the time I got to spend coaching my son's little league teams or the trips my wife and I got to take together and all of the little things like that for a million bucks, seriously.

Anyways, thx for the bump.

Great answer.

We'll be chasing money the rest of our lives, but we can never replace the quality time spent with family.

Its all relative I guess. You wouldn't give up the time you had from things you have done the past 10 years but you will lose time over the rest of your life. If you would have worked more and missed some family stuff back then you would likely be able to do a lot more family stuff in the future, have more money to help your kids, enjoy you life going forward.

The way I look at it, I would rather put my time in now and enjoy the rest of my life being financially secure and not having to work unless I wanted to. Not work "part time" till the day I die, and be greeting people at walmart when I am in my 70's because I didn't bust my ass when I was younger. Just shoot me if that happens.

Another bump for your sale.

thats wrong on so many levels as explained in my post above.

If you are the type that you can never have enough money and if you make 100 million you want to make 100 million more. Or if you burn through the money as fast as you make it... yeah maybe then you would be chasing it forever. But if you really worked 10x harder early on in your life if you save and invest correctly you should be set the rest of your life. Then instead of spending time with your kids just on weekends you could spend everyday with them, your grand kids, make sure your kids are financially secure, go to college, have money for that wedding, take vacations with them, everyone's health is covered. Travel the world with your spouse etc. etc. etc...

When I hear the " enjoy life, I didn't work much because I wanted to spend time with my family, spend it while you are young" etc.. or any one of those type of sayings, my first response is to think how people are making excuses for being lazy... at least 9 out of 10 times I bet that is case.

aren't you looking for an affiliate rep job after a decade of working 10-12 hours every day?

...and maybe being in adult isn't the priority either. I make enough to be able to say yes to a lot more things than before, but it certainly isn't going to make me want to quit my day job.... as much as I like being in front of the computer... I wouldn't want to be in front of it all day looking at this stuff...

Snake Doctor good luck on your sale. I think what your looking for (around 10k) is what it is worth if market conditions were better. 1 yrs net is probably realistic.

Also although some of the information in your posts is incorrect (as in who is retired etc) they are well written.
my 2 cents.

Well look man, what's right for me probably isn't right for you, or for anyone else really. I'm not trying to tell others how they should live their lives, I'm just giving you the reason why I chose to do things the way I did.

Tomorrow is promised to nobody. My dad died at 53, my wife's dad died 10 years younger than that. Her brother died in his late 30's.
Shit happens.
If you knew for certain you'd be around "X" years then you could plan your life accordingly, but none of us know that.

Even if I knew for certain I'd be around, I didn't see the point in missing alot of my son's childhood so I could have a shit ton of money in the bank and spend time with him when he's a teenager. That rarely works out....by that time you're basically a stranger to them and rather than appreciate all the material things you can give them, they actually resent them and see them as the reason that you weren't there for them early on.

Anyhoo, don't want to turn this into an episode of Dr. Phil......I had a great run, and now it's over. I'm back to the corporate world with it's dog and pony shows and cya memos, and just want to cut ties with this biz completely for several reasons.

First $7500 takes the whole ball of wax.

Anything less than that and I might as well keep it, headache or not.

nope.... I am offering to do some consulting work, where I was going to squeeze out another 10 - 15 hours a week of more work on top of what I am already doing. It's all about diversifying and trying to work 10x harder. But if the gfy trolls equate that to meaning I am looking for a rep postition

It's a means to an end for me, I could give a shit if it was porn, owning a garabage pickup business or digging ditches, what ever made the most money to get me where I want to be.

Hey just shooting the shit, to each their own how they want to live their lives... i'm giving you more bumps to help sell your stuff.

The "you can die young" is the classic response of people who don't want to work a lot. True you can die young, you can also live to be 100. And if you don't work much and you live to be a 100 chances are your life will fucking suck and you will work till you are real old and then tossed into a retirement home because you can't afford anything and the state will have to take care of you. Per your logic, god help you if you don't die young because your life will suck as your will be poor and old.

For every person you have known that died before 60, there are millions more who live pay check to pay check well into their 70's and still working.

/Dr. Phil ;)

There is always a happy medium.

Will has a good point that when the getting is good the truly successful get after it. The less motivated use it as yet another excuse to take some additional time off.

However family time is important, especially in the early years. It's a cheesy saying but you can never get those times back, no matter how much you make.

You can still work a ton of hours and spend time with your family. It's just setting priorities. Working in this industry is a luxury in the fact that its mostly work spent from home. Meaning you can get up early, work, take time off and get the kids to school, work until they get home, help them with homework and eat dinner with the fam, tuck them in and then work at night. You can work more hours and have more family time then if you had to work a regular 9-5.

That's a pretty backhanded statement. It's as if you're saying that I don't really care about my family and spending time with them, I'm just using them as an excuse to justify my laziness.

That BTW is a classic response from a money obsessed workaholic who is trying to justify his lack of time spent with his kids, or the fact that he's on his 3rd marriage, or that his kids grew up to be addicts, strippers, hookers, whatever.

I never said I didn't save any money, or that I was looking for a handout, or that I haven't planned for my future, be that living to 100 (because I've saved) or dying tomorrow (because I've bought insurance).

What I've learned over the years is this, you never get rich, you just achieve new levels of relative poverty.

No matter how much you have, you're always looking at the guy one rung above you on the ladder and envying him.
The guy who can't afford to take a nice vacation envies the guy who can. The guy going on vacation and flying coach envies the guy flying first class. The guy flying first class envies the guy who can charter a private plane. The guy chartering the plane envies the guy who owns a plane. The guy who owns a plane envies the guy who owns a nicer plane. The guy who owns the nicest plane probably sees his wealth as more of a burden than a blessing, because everyone wants a piece of him and he doesn't know who his true friends are, and he envies the "normal joe six pack guy".

At some point, you decide what your priorities are and live them. It's not like I'm too lazy to work hard....if I was, I would have never taken the initiative to start my own business in the first place. A lazy person wouldn't dream of spending their free time "working" to try and get a new business going.

I made a conscious choice to earn less money in order to have more time for other things that are more important to me and I have zero regrets about that. Quit trying to find something wrong with me just because I don't share your worldview and worship of the almighty dollar.

plskthx

by your own admission you have worked 10-12 hours a day for a decade and are in the same place as snake doctor: struggling in adult and far from retired.

who has really failed now? at least lenny got to see his kids grow up and enjoy life.

I think majority of Millionaires never want to stop earning money. If you can make a million, there is a good chance you can make 10 million, it goes on and on. You don't just make a quick Million and rely on that the rest of your life. Sorry, you are wrong.

If you can work somewhere for a 100K salary, then you are the type of person that will be happy with what you make and have a good time with family. But if you are a true business man, you will never stop chasing it till the day you die. (Or close to it)

Quit trying to find something wrong with me just because I don't share your worldview and worship of the almighty dollar.

plskthx
pretty whack out reply.

I never said you don't care about your family. You made it sound like the only reason you were putting in 3-4 hours a day was so you could spend time with your family. I think that is simply an excuse. but whatever, just my opinion. Atticus explained it better than me.

I'm not money obsessed, like i said a means to an end for me. Speak for your self for being the person always trying to make more and never being satisfied with what you have. Envy this person, bullshit etc... I will be perfectly fine when my passive income can pay all of my bills and give me a decent amount of play money left over, while the value of my passive income generating investments also grows. That envy crap might be you or the next guy, but not me. I don't envy anyone now, so why would I envy someone when I made enough to retire? I'm happily married, no kids, first wife never cheated muchless hookers, etc.

A lazy person is soemone who works 3-4 hours a day whether it is for someone else or themselves. Actually if they worked for someone else they would likely be forced to work more hours as they would be on a schedule and most shifts are longer than 3-4 hours.

I'm not trying to find anything wrong with you, just difference of opinion.... You stated the "work 3-4 hours a day was the way to go so you can do other important things with your life" I disagreed.

I am in the same place as snake doctor ? so I am making one sale a day hun>?

keep thinking that bro.

I'm not struggling and I am not that far from retiring either. I would have been there already if I wouldn't have strayed from adult and tied up a lot of money in real estate just to watch my net worth take a huge hit over the last couple years. I will be the first to admit I lost a lot of money in offline projects, but it certainly wasn't from a lack of working hard and I am still doing fine with adult. But bro, you know my business, im struggling like snakedoctor if you say so. Now if I could only g et that affiliate rep job

If you can work somewhere for a 100K salary, then you are the type of person that will be happy with what you make and have a good time with family. But if you are a true business man, you will never stop chasing it till the day you die. (Or close to it)
that might the case for most people, but I will speak for myself thanks. I don't want to be a billionaire. I don't need the huge yacht. I could give a shit what I drive, and I don't need the million dollar home. I live modest always have. I have made more money than probably 99% of the people here but I bet 90% of the people here have nicer toys than me.

Not talking about a quick million but building wealth. When you have secure investments that go up in value each year plus generator a cash flow. The cash flow more than covers your living expenses. Money left over can be reinvested and/or used for fun. Continue to grow your wealth from the money generated from it, manage your investsments. Work if, when, and how much you want to. Take a week off or a year off. That is what I called retired.

So you did say exactly what I accused you of implying. That I was using my family just as an excuse to be lazy....that it wasn't really me setting my priorities, it was just me finding an excuse to not work hard.

Spoken like a true workaholic.

See this is the inverse of your point about "yeah tomorrow is promised to nobody but what if you live to be 100 you'll be miserable because you don't have enough money"

Money comes and goes. You can bust your ass 100 hours a week and do all the right things, and still lose it all and be back to the 9-5 grind. Meanwhile, all you have to show for it is a good story (not you specifically, but people that this happens to)

At least I spent time enjoying life, instead of working insane hours so that one day I'd "have enough money to enjoy life"....because that doesn't come with a guarantee that you'll ever even get the money you're chasing.....and even if you do get it, alot of people realize it doesn't make them happy anyways, and they're no happier in their McMansion driving a BMW than they were in their 1000 sq ft condo driving a Chevy.

But if it makes you feel better, just keep thinking I'm lazy.

Doc, why do you keep debating these people. You're selling your stuff. That's it. If it were me I'd just put the guys who aren't positively affecting your thread on ignore and call it a day. Good luck with the sale.

I understand what you mean and it's smart move. But once you have the drive and momentum to make that kind of money, the drive never stops. Most rich guys don't have the nice cars, crazy home. They build wealth for security and to know they are set for the rest of their lives. It's not always about what you drive and where you live.

You are joking right? I don't think you were the first to sell out, besides if you already closed the deal why does this even matter to you?

No if I wanted to copy you I would have made a whiny ass thread every day for over a year about tube sites, added shady x-sales to all of my join pages, used BANKWITHDRAWAL as a billing descriptor, and THEN I would have sold everything.

Instead, I just decided to get out and sell everything.

Don't forget the threads wanting to do traffic trades and then silently killing all the trades a couple weeks later... that was awesome.. what a pain in the ass removing all those trades.
