Fine, let's do the math. 750 million rounds divided by five years is 150 million rounds per year. DHS has 240k employees. That's 625 rounds person per year. Fuck, I use more ammo than that per year.

And yes, Buchanan WAS on MSNBC. And he has talked at length about being forced out of MSNBC over his political viewpoint and how they didn't want any real conservative views being pushed on the network.

It was a move by them for ratings...they THOUGHT that since the country had voted Democrat in 2008 that it meant that more people wanted to see liberal hosts. Turns out they were wrong in that regard (viewership numbers).

They have the same problem that "Air America" had (the failed liberal radio talk show debacle from a couple of years ago). They just aren't hiring any good entertaining men or women that can reach out and grab an audience.

There is no liberal version of Rush Limbaugh. And that is what MSNBC needs (I'm talking ability to entertain people and put "asses in the seats")

Hell yes...not a "censor" or course. You're thinking of the first Iraq war when Peter Arnett was reporting from Baghdad. That's not what I'm talking about.

In Vietnam, the reporters showing what was REALLY happening over there from both sides was what got the country to protest that war.

Home Land security is suppose to be a force inside the US to protect us. Why would after they bought 1.6 billion rounds of ammo need 750 million more, to dry up supply's for others.

Think of it this way, they have military weapons, they are using M4's and M16's . They can fire .223, but they are made for .556 which is a NATO round. There is a shortage of civilian ammo, not military ammo.

I don't understand what you are getting at. In Vietnam, reporters were behind the front lines and only visited a battlefield after the battle was over. They brought them up in groups to approved areas like fucking tourists. The government was trying to hide everything then - and they had a lot to hide.

And yes, they then went into burnt out villages and showed kids and women (civilians) dead everywhere.

Yes. Less than thirty seconds in is a reporter saying "This is what war is all about" and in the background is a guy crying about his hut on fire. This was after the action took place.

Now imagine what we would have seen if there was a reporter embedded in every unit.

Every major law enforcement agency in the country has something similar. I am sure LA has dozens of them. They are needed in case of riot control or the next time a gun man with amour goes nuts in the city.

I wonder how many sites the DHS is required to secure. Thousands of airports, ports, government buildings, borders, oil storage facilities.... Not too far from me in Martinez California there is a huge oil refinery with dozens of massive storage containers. The only think preventing someone from leaving the freeway and driving right up to these huge tanks is a chain link fence. Every refinery should have two or three of these armored trucks.

Ironically, on my drive up from LA yesterday I saw a DHS "tactical command center" truck on the freeway...
