Pay and it's over.

I think the difference here is that Dirty D made no mention of it not being allowed in his TOS, and continued to accept my traffic and joins with no intention of paying me, all while never contacting me to tell me so. He was hoping that I wouldn't notice that he wasn't paying me, yet still continue to run the campaigns.

I remember BangBros awhile back sending out an email (I think they mentioned it here as well) that they would no longer be allowing affiliates to bid on "BangBus". But the difference here is that they made it clear, Dirty D just continued to accept my traffic without saying anything to me and without ever planning on paying for the joins I was sending.

Click on a link on that page that says: "I see an unauthorized ad using my trademark. What is Google's trademark policy?"

Hey, I didn't start it. Will is the one who keeps trolling me. So why don't you direct YOUR fucking problem with it to him. I'm about sick of all this shit personally. Stop trying to make me a bad guy. It's starting to really not sit well with me. I've over and over tried to stay in the middle of this. And I'd like to stay there.

LOL come on man. You aren't sick of anything. You love this shit. Any time you post it is in a thread like this where you can fight with someone. Very rarely do you post in a thread that is not "drama" related.

I know why though. Being a webmaster is boring as fuck. This shit is entertaining!

I am not trying to make you out to be the bad guy, but you've posted more times in this thread to argue with someone or to bait someone for an argument than you have to actually contribute something to the topic at hand, and thats starting to really not sit well with me. I don't argue with people in your threads to try to take it off topic, please don't do it in mine.

beemk 12-05-2009 12:22 PM

i was promoting bangbros via ppc when it wasn't allowed (it was a new rule and i didn't see it in the TOS). they simply asked me to take it down and still paid me. i still promote them to this day.

Hey, did you bother to READ the fucking personal attacks on me in this thread? Yes, I responded to them. Yes, I got pissed off. But I never "baited" will. I never "baited" Warren. Why aren't you telling them to stop this shit in your thread? I'm sorry I don't agree with you 100% and want to see this continue like everybody else does. I try to see it from both sides and people jumped all personal at me about it. Why don't YOU tell THEM to stop trolling in your thread. I HAVE discussed the subject at hand in most every thread (with the exception of the ones I am defending myself in from the trolling) Where is Will's contribution to your "topic at hand' in his last trolling post? And when Warren came in out of nowhere pissed off at me...what was the contribution there when he kept demanding that I remember him from a party in L.A.

Fair is fair. I don't appreciate you painting this picture of me just because I think for myself and see that YES Dirty D has reasons for what he did. I didn't say I agreed with him. Just like I don't agree with you buying the fucking adword for his domain name. And that seems to be the reason you keep singling me out. I didn't fall in line with the lynching.

Its not about you agreeing with me or not, if everyone in this thread said that I was wrong, it wouldn't be this many pages. Everyone is telling him to pay me, because it is clear to them that I should be paid. You are the only real board personality playing devils advocate, which in some cases I think is a good thing, but in this particular case is unnecessary.

People attack you because you are always posting stuff to hit a nerve. There are ways to say things and ways not to say things, depending on the outcome you want to achieve. I know that you know that. You word things or say things in a way to either get under someones skin or to incite an argument, or both. Try for one week to say things in a positive way, both on the boards and in "real life", you might be surprised at how people react to you and how your overall mindset becomes more positive.

No wait, that isn't the lesson here is it :)

So you read what Will wrote and think that was "postive" WTF!?!?!?!

What was so "positive" there? And where was the "Topic at hand"? That was just a guy being an asshole for no reason. And you are wrong about my intentions to post stuff to "hit a nerve" I post stuff according to my own experience and what I think. Not to start a fight with a bunch of guys who LIVE to fight on GFY. I actually come here to try and do business too. And make no mistake about it...I know you have a chorus of folks on here saying over and over that this is bad business for Dirty D. Well, it's bad business for you too Shoehorn. This is lose/lose. None of this is professional. Both you and Dirty D are acting out of anger. And yes, it's entertaining everybody. But at the end of the day it's not going to make a dollar for you.

I suggest once again that you go back to private talks with Dirty D. Don't know if it will make much difference. This shit has probably gone too far for him to want to do anything but get payback for any percieved damage to his reputation. But there is always a chance you guys could talk like men and work it out.

Yeah, but you've also called him a "thief" and "scumbag" and made offers to people to fly sigs that attack him.

That is not professional and it's not positive. You really expect him to pay you after all of this? He's probably more interested in payback than paying out. And that's not good for either of you.

Take your own advice. Get positive. You went nuclear on a message board. Impressive. Now pull back a second and talk to Dirty D and see if something can't be worked out. You can always do all the cool paymedirtyd.com's and derogatory sigs on a message board again if he is still set on it. Right?

Don't need a tissue. And I absolutely agree with Dirty D on the fact that buying the adword on google for his domain name is not PROMOTING him. And that is what an affiliate is supposed to do.

I also 100% agree with Shoehorn that once Dirty D saw that, he should have terminated Shoehorn instantly and paid him what he had earned.

so shoehorn would have been better off bidding on that term, and sending it to a different affiliate program?

Its important for people to know about this situation. Too often things like this are a big topic on the boards for a couple days, then everyone forgets. Meanwhile the sponsor still hasn't paid the affiliate, and then later you hear they pull something similar.

I have already said if he pays me the money he owes me I will ask that this thread be closed. I'll even turn the domain over to him if thats what he wants.

Again, the only thing I want here is to be paid the money that I have owed to me.

I'll say it again so its clear for everyone, including Dirty D - all I want is to be paid the money that I am owed, I am willing to work out a payment plan with him or whatever if money is an issue. After that he can close my affiliate account and keep the $30 sale I sent to him in November that hasn't posted in NATS yet. Hell, at this point I will even take the $350 hes owed me since last month, and he can keep the payout he owes me for this month and future months. How much more willing to work with him can I be than that?

No Shoehorn would have been better off actually sending some new traffic that wasn't already searching out Dirty D's site. And if Shoehorn thinks he can convert an adword for D's site to another site...then he should give that a shot.

As an affililiate I've made my money by targetting traffic. If he wants to try and target another crack whore site then so be it. If Dirty D has a trademark on his site, then that won't last long.

Quite frankly, that Adword didn't add up to much anyway. So all the talk of sending that massive traffic somewhere else doesn't really mean much does it? Or am I way off base? If so, then feel free to educate me. And let me know your credentials and expertise in doing so.

This could have been rephrased more positively as "Quite frankly, that Adword didn't add up to much. So all the talk of sending that traffic somewhere else doesn't really mean much. Although a sale is a sale, and right now they are hard to come by, but I see what you're saying."

That's a good one!

And that's one that would work too. If I were buying a new car and hadn't made up my mind yet and googled mercedes, I certainly would take a look at BMW too.

And maybe if someone is looking for crack whores...fuck, I don't know shit about that niche so I can't say. Okay, if they were looking for crack whores in general it would definitely be a toss up. Just like looking for a german luxury car would be. But if they specifically were looking for "crackwhore confessions" then I would say it's a roll of the dice to actually PAY for that adword.

Now if you have actual SEO skills and went for it with some actual work involved...then it might be profitable to take that top spot for "crackwhore confessions" and send it to another carefully chosen Crack Whore site.

But that would require skill and work. And it would also require a lot of crack whore research...uggghhhh.

Sales are hard to come by...for us affiliates. I promote a lot of sites. And the ratios are horrendous. Piracy and the economy have destroyed it. But "type ins" for paysites are doing quite well for any unique and creative site that isn't over saturated on tubes and torrents. Which is why Dirty D got pissed about the adword and acted out of anger.

He means that while I was only sending a few sales a month to Dirty D, its likely I am running campaigns for several other sites. Those few sales a month might not be a lot to one program, but spread that across lots of programs and it adds up.

Didn't say that. You're not understanding what I said. I said if you search for crack whores...then it's a toss up. If a surfer searches for the term "crackwhore confessions" then he is searching for a BRANDED website in specificity. Yes, there is a small chance he would buy another site. Because that kind of thing would actually bring NEW eyes to BVF's site. But it does NOT bring new eyes to Dirty D's site. And if that isn't clear to you then I don't know what else to say.

This is true, but a typein and searching for the site in Google are two entirely separate things.

Oh, still don't get what that had to do with what we were talking about. We were discussing this topic. Not how many adword campaigns you pay for. Sorry for the confusion.
