Might be an interesting week then, because I am sitting on something too which I'll announce when more people are reading after the weekend.

We can now accept one off and recurring subscription contributions via Paypal.

https://copycontrol.org/contribute/

Please make sure that you return to the Copy Control website from Paypal after making a contribution so that it's recorded properly.

You will notice on the form that contact information is requested, this is optional and does not need to be filled in, however we would like records of who has been contributing so that we maintain maximum transparency. It's up to you if you fill out those details.

You can choose to make a weekly, monthly, yearly donation and you can also choose to contribute once or recurring.

If you wish to make contributions via Paxum then please do so at [email protected]

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far and to everyone who intends to contribute in the future.

AdultKing 10-20-2013 03:39 PM

We need to hire an office administration trainee to handle the increased workload that we are now facing in creating necessary report and data streams to speed up our efforts.

The cost to us of hiring a trainee for a year is $350 per 35 hour week, plus 9% loading for Superannuation and $390 per year for workers compensation insurance.

It's already expensive to do this work. We pay for offices, servers, legal fees, cloud services such as our project management system, accounting and databases. We also have courier, postage, photocopying, teleconferencing and office expenses to cover.

This project will not be able to continue without support from the industry. We would appreciate any assistance that people can provide so that we can make an even bigger impact than we already have on the file locker ecosystem.

If you believe this project is worthwhile then please contribute via https://copycontrol.org/contribute

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed and those who will contribute in the future.

Just subscribed for $100 a month. I hope others make due on some of the donation numbers they were talking about. :)

Just a heads up, we have changed our international phone number which is now amended on the Copy Control website. The local 1300 number remains the same.

On another note, I put in $4000 today to boost our finances.

I hope some more people can support our effort.

The link for contributions is https://copycontrol.org/contribute

I have added to the Report Piracy form some extra options.

Even if you think we should already know about a site please report it.

https://copycontrol.org/report-piracy

We are particularly interested in forums, torrent sites, file locker linking blogs, link lists or file search engines.

Just an FYI.

It should only do that if the site is already in our database, if you look at the form after an error it will highlight the URL field and say that the item is a duplicate.

Could you try it again and check that's the error ?

Sure, just filled out another offender. Got this error.

"An error has occurred. It has been reported to Zoho Creator support. We will look into this issue .
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Go to Home "

I did have one that said URL already in database though. So this is a different issue.

Hmmm, I know some folks that love a challenge.

xxxhq may not be on their list yet.

I hear some announcements are coming in the next day or so.

Is your content being shared on File Factory ? If so you're not alone.

File Factory have found even more ways to monetize your content. They will allow uploaders to import files from other File Factory accounts and then share them. They also have a new file search engine built into the site.

The guys behind FileFactory.com and other ventures such as GameWorld Industries Pty Ltd and the Idea Lab theidealab.com.au (which is now just a Centos default Apache page) is one Holt Meyers.

Since we started scrutinising Holt Meyers he's removed much of his visible social media, however here's a recent photo of him

http://stopfilelockers.com/wp-conten...holtmeyers.jpg

One of his coworkers is not so shy and has a pretty comprehensive LinkedIn profile.

Meet Drew Wareham the Chief Technical Officer at The Idea Lab

http://stopfilelockers.com/wp-conten...rewwareham.jpg

We have more data than we'll share here on these fellows. We've been investigating the operations of Holt Meyers for quite some time. Some people say he's been involved in all sorts of things from File Factory to Dodgy Property Investment

Links: http://holtmeyers.com
http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=8668143
http://www.linkedin.com/in/drewseph

Holt think's he's on fairly safe ground, but let's ensure he reassesses his situation.

If you have content being unlawfully shared on FileFactory.com right now then please email us at [email protected]

If you have been the victim of copyright infringement on FileFactory.com then please contact us here: https://copycontrol.org/contact-us/

We are currently collecting evidence, affidavits and other information that may lead to legal action being taken against the owners of File Factory and Holt Meyers personally.

Happy Halloween.

I've asked some other people to test it. However we have had more than 50 reports received via the form today, so it seems to be working for at least some people.

We'll get to the bottom of what's going on.

Are you sure you're filling in every field with an * and choosing the site type from the dropdown box ?

Yea because if I don't it will tell me I am missing something. Tried to test that. Very strange.

Maybe it's because I am using the https link you gave?

EDIT: OK I removed the secure part of your submit URL and took out http:// in the URL I tried to submit in the report and it worked.

I'd guess it's because I had http:// in the URL that it failed, but it could be either.

We'll get it fixed. The reports are being received, it's just the redirect back to the Copy Control site that seems to fail.

AdultKing 10-22-2013 05:17 AM

I believe we have fixed the problem, it was a caching issue on our end.

I tried PayPal first but it's such a mess. I don't like them either.

Then I realized that I can setup a monthly recurring donation in Paxum as well.
So I did. :thumbsup

WDF 10-22-2013 10:38 AM

Good to see you now have systems in place to allow those that want to donate on a recurring basis to sign up. With a little hope you can keep things rolling along.

The rumor mill is really active on my end. I heard of another exploit for WHMCS was about yesterday. I wonder what new data will come from that.

For those interested and in need Hostgator is discounting hosting today. Start a new project, diversify your income streams.

Just sent you a list of Filefactory infringements, which I DMCA'd on the 15th. The files are still online if you search. Seems like they just say the search URL they return expires, and a new URL is created on the next search.

WDF 10-22-2013 12:22 PM

Rumor mill says a new place to post stuff like this is opening soon.

I, also, heard CashWhore.net accepts posts by guest authors from known AP groups.
