There is another chip-in, it's near the top of the page in the right column, titled:
Stop File Lockers 2013
Ends Jun 30

Donations are always appreciated.

Luckyshare is an ongoing issue, we'll keep them in the dark about what's planned for them.

There's been a lot of media about Stop File Lockers in recent days given the pressure we are placing on the payment processing for Mega. Responding to media requests has been taking a lot of my time in the past few days.

I'd ask everyone who thinks what we are doing is worthwhile to consider making a contribution via our Chip In at http://stopfilelockers.com

or by sending a Paxum payment to [email protected]

I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed so far. We would not exist without the support of contributors.

This is such a great thread. Record number of views maybe? Top 10 of all time?

I am surprised that not one of these businesses have not filed a tortious interference lawsuit yet with so much money supposedly involved the fact that none have lawyered up to fight back is astonishing and pure luck on your part.

Answer is simple, we are lawyered up also and we have the law on our side.

The moment one of these enters court we get the chance to subpoena all sorts of interesting evidence.

Also, the truth is actually a defense in Australia. Seems outrageous to an American.

Truth is a defence to defamation in Australia.

However _Lush_, who is already on record in this thread as being against our efforts, is talking about is Tortious interference.

_Lush_ will be disappointed to realise that we are not actually engaging in tortious interference because the acts that cause the cessation of relationships between merchants and payment processors have been taken by the merchants.

It is not tortious interference to report a breach of terms and conditions in a business relationship to one of the parties.

We have lawyers, we use them often, this is why what we do costs a lot of money.

What would their argument be?

ultimately who knows what argument they might use but any even half assed lawyer could probably throw a handfull of wild arguments out there and see what stuck. The fact that not a single one of them has used lawyers is amazing given the supposed amounts of money they are dealing in. Even manwin sued the newspaper that was writing an article about them regardless of whether their argument was valid. They understand that lawyers are a tool in thier war chest and they freely uses em.

We're in Australia, not the USA and poorly conceived legal action is much harder to sustain here.

$20 sent via paxum, not a lot but I hope it helps the cause.

BlackAndBlue 01-27-2013 02:44 PM

"Tortious interference" is not a legitimate legal claim when the "business" that is being conducted is illegal. That's true of all countries that I am aware of.

They could always use the "It wasn't me" defense but I doubt it would hold up.

We can't recommend any individual take down service, there are several available - Google will help - it's really up to who you feel comfortable working with and what their capabilities are.

Even after emailing a few people of how badly they were being effected by file lockers, they still find it easier to complain.

SKUP 01-31-2013 01:16 PM

They have the guts to ask us for help (whining all over the place) and if you ask for some small financial supports in return, the accuse you of robing them. You've got to love this industry :winkwink::helpme:winkwink:
