I think the tally is zero, but hey, at least he's trying, don't be a hater, bro.

Paul Markham said for years if you go after the money all piracy will stop. And he gets the whole online thing.

It's clearly a waiting game.

davethedope 08-29-2012 04:23 PM

thread's losing steam

johnnyloadproductions 08-29-2012 04:28 PM

The campaign is fine, people that were originally enthused may not be showing up but so it is with the pirates as they aren't doing outright attacks like they were before.
Remember when they attacked GFY?
This is a steady campaign that is focused. It's just too bad only AK and a few others can see that.

Axeman 08-29-2012 05:31 PM

Keep up the great job AK! Hopefully corporate risk departments at Visa/MC start to take action from the top down as well.

AdultKing 08-29-2012 06:49 PM

In the past few days Paypal has terminated the accounts of:

http://moviedownload.pro
http://softwaretube.org/
http://extreme-board.com/payments.php

We have also seen Paypal removed from 6 resellers and 2 file lockers.

2CO has cancelled the accounts of 5 file lockers.

Moneybookers has cancelled the accounts of 2 file lockers and 7 resellers.

I'll post a more complete update at the end of the week.

Robbie 08-29-2012 07:03 PM

Thanks for your work AK!

Did you know that this thread has the second highest number of views? It's only after the official statement from epass thread when they imploded.

lbc213 08-30-2012 05:39 AM

Lets bump this back up

MakingItPay 08-30-2012 08:13 AM

That's a lot of views. Sounds like a lot of people missing paypal checks too.

And a lot of servers not getting paid.

AK is showing Pirate's weak link, money flow. Let's hope others outside porn take notice.

Paul Markham 08-30-2012 01:42 PM

A bump before bedtime.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Question is how many checks for piracy has he stopped? Guessing lots! :thumbsup

I wonder if this thread gets so many views because content producers like what he is doing, or people that make money from piracy hate it?

I think this is what causing so much Anti Fighting Piracy posts.

It's pretty easy for someone with knowledge of how piracy works to put up a file Locker. Or run a forum supporting one. Who knows what some here really do?

Asking this question was a real thread killer! :1orglaugh

Everyone may continue saying how AK is wasting his time now. :thumbsup

he actually didn't 'stop' any checks. he only 'delayed' it for 180 days. They'll still get paid, and they move to a real processor other than paypal, and it's business as usual.

:2 cents:

adultmobile 08-31-2012 03:26 PM

I reported this before. TOday I tried again and I still can not send a message in this contact form:

http://stopfilelockers.com/contact-a...a-enquiries-2/

At send, I get "Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method."

So I tried 3 different emails, 2 different IP address, and 3 browsers (ie9, ff15, chrome) and got same result. Shortened topic and content as "test" and still failed...

We're receiving emails through that email contact form, I'll look into it again. It may have something to do with the caching that our cloud front end does.

We've been operating for 66 days, have not shut off all forms of payment processing for all sites so of course not many have failed completely. However we have disrupted piracy and will not stop until these sites lose ALL forms of payment processing and ad network support.

Our aim is to remove all forms of monetization for file lockers.

Given that many replies in this thread have been anti our efforts I would imagine that file lockers operators watch this thread like a hawk, in fact we have seen evidence to suggest exactly that.

We do not believe we are wasting our time. Anybody who thought this would be over in a few weeks is delusional. This is a sustained long term effort that is costing money, time and resources to run.

Paypal is able to "fine" merchants who are repeat offenders against Paypal's AUP. In other words in some cases these accounts will NOT be paid out and in those cases Paypal provides the funds to charitable organisations such as the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

Netload.in have been terminated by Paypal.

There's some current mitigation taking place against some file lockers which started recently and will continue for some time.

Paul Markham 09-01-2012 07:49 AM

In 180 days their debts will have grown and who knows if the upload monkeys will get paid.

When Paypal is taken out, the next processor probably with stricter rules comes in. And there could be bigger processing fees. If you're going to fuck around with file lockers processing, might as well earn from it.

POSOnline have a nice anti-Paypal message at the bottom of their home page.

In any case, POS Online will end up closing up shop, we've got special plans for them.

It's interesting to see that hotfile.com is completely off the radar for the SFL project. Being previously one the worst offenders, after series of legal battles in US, they employed several methods to prevent copyright infringements, and seem to have no problems at the moment. It means that there are indeed legal models for a classic(focused on sharing files, and not storing like dropbox) file locker operations. Just kill repetitive infringement accounts, react on DMCA complaints quickly, and prevent reported files from being uploaded again by storing and comparing md5-hashes.

And they also use DFP for videos and music if I'm not mistaken.

While we understand that there is a perception that some sites are not receiving attention, the fact is that nothing could be further from the truth.

We do not discuss our targets in advance of them being dealt with unless strategically imperative for us to do so and there are many different reasons why some sites may take longer than others to deal with.

While I am not commenting on Hotfile.com, I can say that in some cases the investigations required to acheive a result can be extremely lengthy and the body of evidence required is sometimes huge. There are also other issues at play in some cases including third party investigations.

As I said, we do usually do not reveal targets until they are dealt with and we do not discuss operational matters, so for the moment I would suggest that you simply watch this space.
