Great thread...couple of quick questions from a newbie

What do you believe would be a reasonable estimate as to the net earnings of some of the more senior webmasters on this site?

Are CJ2 sites the way to go or would you suggest TGP?

What would be the best way to purchase a domain name that already has SE traffic?

Ask him how much it costs and then pay.

Can you please explain the business model for paysites.

They pay webmasters $40 per signup. They offer the surfer a 3 day trial membership for $3.95 or a 1 month membership for $30.

Most surfers don't stick around very long I would assume. Taking that into account and bandwidth costs, how can a paysite be profitable?

Go work for a porn company and learn. Once you understand the business, strike out on your own.

well, plenty of people WILL forget to cancel so you make the recurring. Exits are worth something, there are plenty of signups that come in "untracked"
All those things fall to the bottom line.

What is it that makes thehun.com so profitable. For the surfers it's great, the site treats them royally, but there really is no force to buy anything.

You mentioned earlier that surfers were to smart for CJ sites. Would you suggest that I create a TGP or AVS site to begin with?

12clicks,

If you were going to start a personals site, what would you do to generate excitement to get people to join? How do you make it look like it's a busy site with a lot of action going on?

When you start it theres noone joined yet so every search will bring up 0 results.

Would you write up fake profiles with fake pictures?

Also if you allow people to send you nudes of themselves and you post them are you really openning yourself up to legal action or are sites like voyeurweb pretty well protected against legal action?

actually, my first choice would be a paysite. then if you must, a tgp.
a successful tgp is a very time consuming thing

I'd buy real profiles from an established personals site then try to trade or give traffic to that site to build a biz relationship and hopefully entice them to mentor you in the biz.
if people submitted nudes, I would put them in a seperate area so people would not stumble upon them by accident but only see them if they wanted to.
I wouldn't worry about the legalities.

ah I didn't know other personals sites would be open to this. I figured they wouldn't want new competition.

Thanks 12clicks

I really think it is a bad time but I've always had a bias against them so take that with a grain of salt.
There may be avs guys who will tell you to go for it but without someone knowledgable's help, I don't see how you'd succeed.

In starting a pay site, what would you consider the minimum amount of content, ie pics, movies, stories, live feeds?

Would you consider doing this all in house or outsourcing it to knowledgeable vendors? If you chose the later, what are some of the more well known vendors?

How often would you update a paysite?

Shit, you could have build a whole paysite with the big sale jstyles had last month.
There is so much cheap content out there to buy in bulk, building a paysite is easy. And don't worry about it being unique. what are the chances that joe surfer has seen all your content before? slim. update every 3 days. do everything inhouse. DO NOT give part of your earnings to anyone.
its ok to buy some movie plugins but thats it.

Do you think the industry is oversaturated with people just trying to make a quick buck? And will this hurt the chances of someone just starting out?

sure, the average age of webmasters here is abour 22. not worldly enough or business savvy enough to see beyond tomorrow.
yes, it will hurt everyone's entry into the biz

Hi 12clicks,

and thank you for the best thread I have read on this forum.

My personal goal within this biz is to promote a single use plastic pussy which the user fills with warm water. I think it is a good idea, since the user will want to use it while surfing for free (or paid porn). It is also a nice product in that many who order it once, will order it again and again and again. I also hope that this may be a good product to market as the porn is quite saturated.

I have two goals.
First and most important I want as many webmasters as possible to join the affiliate program.

Secondly I would like to get people to buy the product.

What would your recommendations be?

Thanx,
mister soft

you could entice webmasters to sell it by giving one to every webmaster who makes at least 5 sales. That would be one way to get affiliates. Outside of that, get the product out there. Buy TGP banner spots and the like so its seen by tons of eyeballs. Use a easily remembered url on the banner and make the front page memorable.
Use testimonials like, "This is the best pussy I've ever had. It does everything but cook"
revshare with all of the big sex toy product sellers.
That's a start.

Thanx. Good solid advice as far as I can judge. Will follow.

(*proudly* the part about free samples to webmasters is already implemented :-) )

I have one detail question though, what is revshare and how does one set it up?

Ahh Please...

What do you think of my new site? (you can spit on it, as long as I can learn from it.)

Nope, I'm way to busy. If I'm not mistaken, none of the questions in this thread deals with what I REALLY do. This is all just knowledge of come by along the road leading to where I am now.
I'm always happy to point people in the right direction via icq but to actually take someone under my wing, I just don't have that kind of time.

I have one detail question though, what is revshare and how does one set it up?

Mister Soft

revshare, you know, just splitting profits with your partner.
You won't get anyone to BUY your goods wholesale to re-sell them but you will get people to sell YOUR stock and just take a piece of the profit.

a quick look has me wondering where you plan on making money?
its TOO free.
for example, your amateur links should have different sponsors for each gallery. DIFFERENT. same with your other categories. let them see every sponsor on the planet. They need choices or at least the opportunity to see something new in a sponsor.
I do like the layout and all but there's so much free stuff! a surfer could live there for free and never pull out a CC.

I need some script that can handle a shitload of galleries and thumbs, but there are so many, don't know what to buy

But thanks, I make it less "free"

my car has been posted before E320 nothing special.
don't think I have a pic of the house. 6900sq ft of living space, library (full of books), wine cellar (with wine), granite, marble, ceramic, pavers outside, murals, the usual.
I make more than I ever thought possible 7 yrs ago.
My nickname comes from serge. when I first started in this biz I sent him traffic because of mojo. upon meeting serge he made fun of me by saying,"oh yeah, I know bigron 12clicks" It was a humbling experience and as my traffic grew I decided that it was funny to be someone with more clicks than god announcing he only has 12.

Say you have a small amateur site....just one girl who is doing it for a little extra cash.

What would be the best way to promote this site, since not many major players will use your as an affiliate?

What would be the best way to get quality traffic, since friends pages and tgp traffic doesn't do well for smaller sites?

I have this burning itch all around my butthole after getting very drunk and passing in a biker bar. How can I cure it?
