w/ is just a typing shortcut that I saw used when I was a kid -- I'd be interested to know when "w/" was first used...

As for --, I took a technical writing class in college. The professor gave a lecture about how commas were obsolete. Here are some quotes from a technical writing book I have:

"Choose dashes or parentheses to avoid making an appositive seem like the second item in a series..."

"Use dashes to set off material that interrupts a sentence with a different idea."

"To emphasize a word or phrase at the end of a sentence."

"To set off a definition."

"To introduce a series less formally than with a colon."

So you see dashes are very versatile and formally correct. Since my thoughts include many interruptions -- dashes are very convenient for me during "conversation" and so I have adopted them. They also keep the text looking pretty and less confusing.

I know Shap for a long time. He was in violation of the TOS. If he hadn't pissed with 12clicks, the worst that would have happened would have been a polite e-mail. Simple mistake, one that Shap wasn't even directly responsible for (he had someone running the site for him at the time). But because he went at it on a board, it wound up costing him some coin. Not a good day for my friend Shap, but like my old man told me, "fuck with the bull -- you get the horns". More than just that paycheck, too -- since that proggie was red hot shit back then (much like free ezine are/were now)

pretty much this thread is standard operating procedure, so it should be aimed at newbies. If you're doing good in you biz, it might cheer you up to get some affirmation of your beliefs.

well, for my freesites, I just use sextracker where I need it.
Other than that, what do you need the info for?
most of it is staring you in the face. traffic, conversions, etc.
